The Fourth of July has one immovable constraint: fireworks need darkness. Most public displays start somewhere between 9 and 9:30pm because that is when full dark arrives in early July across most of the country, and it is later the further north and the further west in a time zone you are. If the countdown is for the display rather than the day, set the hour and check the organiser's published start time.
Everything else works backwards from there. Charcoal needs a good half hour to reach cooking temperature, parking near a display fills up an hour or more before it begins, and getting out afterwards takes longer than getting in.
