The short version: timer.now is free to use, runs on your device, and stores nothing about your timers on our servers.

Privacy

timer.now is designed to be private by default. The countdown timer runs entirely in your browser. The choices you make - The name you give a timer, whether the alarm sound is on, whether it loops, your light or dark theme - Are saved only in your own browser's local storage. This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us.

We do not require an account or ask for personal information to use the timer. There is no advertising. We use privacy-friendly analytics - Clicky and a self-hosted Matomo - to measure page views and traffic sources so we can improve the site. They do not receive your timer names, durations or settings, which stay in your browser. We will update this policy before enabling any further data collection.

Cookies & local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember your timer and preferences between visits. This is essential to features like session restore and your theme choice. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings; doing so simply resets those preferences. Our analytics (Clicky and Matomo) may also set a cookie to count returning visits; it does not identify you personally.

Terms of use

timer.now is provided free of charge, "as is", for personal and commercial use. While we work hard to keep the timer accurate and reliable, we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and it should not be relied upon as the sole safeguard for anything safety-critical. Always use an appropriate dedicated device where accuracy is essential.

You agree not to misuse the service or attempt to disrupt it for others. We may update these terms or the site's features from time to time; continued use means you accept the current version.
